Hi, I'm Karen. Are you a parent watching your child struggle and not knowing how to help? Is your teen withdrawing, acting out, or carrying pain they can't put into words? Or maybe you're an adult or a couple who has been holding everything together for so long that the distance between you and the people you love has quietly grown? You don't have to keep navigating it alone.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with nearly two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and couples through some of life's most challenging moments. Much of my career has been dedicated to working with youth in foster care and community-based settings — helping young people navigate the effects of trauma, abuse, neglect, and major life transitions. I have partnered with schools, families, and community agencies, including Broward County Public Schools and the Department of Juvenile Justice, to provide wraparound support that addresses the whole child.
Whether I am working with a child who has experienced instability, a teen who feels unseen and misunderstood, an adult navigating a major life change, or a couple trying to find their way back to each other — I show up with patience, cultural awareness, and genuine care. My goal is to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where every client feels truly heard and supported.
My therapeutic approach
I believe every person holds the capacity for growth and healing — sometimes they just need the right support to access it. I tailor my approach to the individual needs of each client, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Together, we will identify what is getting in the way, build on your existing strengths, and work collaboratively toward meaningful, lasting change. Your story matters, and I am here to help you write the next chapter.
