Karla Hadad, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Availability: Currently accepting new clients virtually and in person in Plantation.

Hi, I'm Karla. Are you navigating a major life transition, feeling anxious, or unsure how to move forward? I work with individuals navigating life's significant transitions, including anxiety, stress, grief, identity shifts, and major life changes. I have a special focus on mothers navigating motherhood, whether it's your first child or your fourth, including pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and reproductive challenges. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from who they were before, unsure how to process everything they're carrying.

I specialize in perinatal mental health and support clients experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, life transitions, and emotional adjustment to medical challenges.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are carrying a lot on your own. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. If you are ready to explore change, heal from difficult experiences, and reconnect with yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

My therapeutic approach

I utilize  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Person Centered Therapy.

Coming to therapy — especially during a season as significant as pregnancy, postpartum, or another major life transition — can feel like a big step, and I want you to know there's no "right" way to start. You don't need to have the words for what you're feeling before our first session; that's something we figure out together.

I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can be honest about what you're carrying, whether that's anxiety, grief, feeling disconnected from who you were before, or the specific weight of becoming (or growing into) a mother. I practice under the supervision of a licensed clinician, which means your care is grounded in both my direct support and ongoing clinical guidance — you're getting a thoughtful, well-supported process, not a solo effort.

Expect a space where nothing is off-limits and where you set the pace. Some clients want to dive in right away; others need time to build trust first. Both are welcome here.
