Therapy vs. Coaching: Which One Is Right for You?

As a Licensed Therapist and Relationship Coach, I offer two distinct forms of support to help you heal, grow, and thrive. Understanding the difference between therapy and coaching will help you choose the approach that best meets your current needs.

Therapy

As a licensed therapist, I work with individuals who are navigating emotional pain, trauma, or mental health conditions that are impacting their daily lives. Therapy is often focused on healing the past—exploring root causes of patterns, processing unresolved pain, and developing coping strategies to improve emotional wellbeing.

Therapy is appropriate if you are:

  • Living with diagnosed or undiagnosed mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or CPTSD.

  • Experiencing emotional distress related to childhood trauma, toxic relationships, or family conflict.

  • Struggling with symptoms that interfere with your work, relationships, or self-esteem.

  • Seeking to understand patterns of self-sabotage, codependency, or attachment wounds.

Therapy is provided in accordance with the ethical and legal guidelines of the state of Florida, and includes confidential, clinically informed care.

Coaching

As a relationship coach, I support individuals who want to break unhealthy relationship patterns, improve communication, build confidence, and develop emotionally healthy relationships. Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented—it’s about giving you tools, accountability, and support to move forward.

Coaching is appropriate if you are:

  • Feeling stuck in the same type of unfulfilling or toxic relationships.

  • Wanting to learn how to set boundaries and communicate effectively.

  • Trying to build self-trust, confidence, and emotional resilience in dating or relationships.

  • Ready to take actionable steps to improve your love life, even if you’re not dealing with a clinical mental health diagnosis.

Coaching is not a substitute for therapy and does not treat mental health conditions. Instead, it empowers you to become more secure, self-aware, and intentional in your relationships.
